University Archives: Major Collections - Students and Alumni

 

The University Archives has a variety of documentation about UCI students and alumni and student life, including administrative records from UCI offices concerned with student and alumni affairs, publications from various student organizations, student newspapers, yearbooks, photographs of student activities, and student and alumni directories.

  • Central Records Unit Records (AS-004)
    Series 7, Student Affairs, contains annual reports, meeting minutes, correspondence and policy manuals, including materials from the Affirmative Action Program, Office of Relations with Schools and Colleges, Innovation in Student Life, Admissions, Student Affairs, Enrollment), Health Services, Student Discipline and Conduct, Student Organizations, ASUCI, Associated Graduate Students, Campus Union, and the University Center.
  • Student Activities Office Records (AS-016)
    Concerns the administration of student government, clubs, and organizations at UCI from 1965 to 1973. Records include applications, correspondence, and topical files.
  • Office of Innovation in Student Life Records (AS-009)
    Includes records from the tenure of the first ombudsman on the UCI campus between 1967 and 1973. Topics include Students and Alumni, Academic Affairs and Student Affairs, student activities, student activism, and other student issues.
  • Camino's First Years: Camino, Mesa Court, UCI (AS-068)
    Scrapbook includes photographs, commentary, fliers, prize ribbons and other ephemera collected and composed by the first group of student residents in Camino Hall, part of Mesa Court, UCI's first residence hall community.
  • Women's Resource Center (AS-015)
    Supported by the Associated Students of UCI, the Women's Resource Center served the umbrella organization for all women’s programs on campus. Records include by-laws, minutes, reports, correspondence, newsletters, pamphlets, flyers and brochures, articles, videotapes, photographs, and news clippings.  Represented issues include affirmative action, feminism, child care, rape prevention, and sexual harassment.
  • Cross Cultural Center Records (AS-052)
    Documents the Cross Cultural Center's mission to offer programs that support UCI's culturally and ethnically diverse community. Contains administrative records, program and event planning materials, committee files, and documentation on student organizations.   • Clubs and Organizations Publications
    Document the activities of clubs and organizations serving students, faculty, and staff. Includes newsletters, journals, fliers, invitations, event programs, brochures, schedules of events, and handbooks.
  • Communications Department Photographs (AS-061)
    Contains photographs depicting campus scenes with students, student activities, athletic teams, and student groups.  This collection has not yet been organized; please contact us for more information.
  • Yearbook Photographs (AS-065)
    Approximately 4,000 images taken by yearbook photographers of UCI events, students, faculty, staff, and buildings between 1989 and 1995. This collection has not yet been organized; please contact us for more information.
