The University Archives holds materials that document academic planning, including those that relate to the establishment and accreditation of academic programs, the definition and revision of curricular and departmental requirements, the formulation and approval of courses, and the evaluation of teaching and learning. - Campus administration
Publications and records from the highest levels of UCI's administration may provide a general overview of the campus's organization, achievements, programs, decisions, and activities. - Campus planning and architecture
Beginning with the first campus proposals in 1959, the University Archives holds a variety of materials pertaining to the design and planning of UCI's campus and buildings. - Faculty and staff
Documentation about UCI faculty and staff includes photographs of many early faculty and staff, directories, and administrative records and publications documenting policies and issues of concern to faculty and staff. - Gender and diversity
The University Archives has both published materials and administrative records documenting the efforts, organizations, and events at UCI to support a diverse community. - Students and alumni
The University Archives has a variety of documentation about UCI students and alumni, including administrative records from UCI offices concerned with student and alumni affairs, publications from various student organizations, student newspapers, yearbooks, photographs of student activities, and student and alumni directories.

The University Archives holds over 3.5 million documents created or used by UCI offices in the course of their daily activities. These documents are organized into archival collections, which are named for the UCI office that originally maintained them. - Photographs
The University Archives holds approximately 50,000 images of the UCI campus. The images document a wide array of subjects including campus buildings, events, student activities, and faculty. - Publications
The University Archives holds over 2,000 published volumes and countless smaller publications about UCI and from UCI offices and student organizations. University publications include yearbooks, directories, course catalogs, newspapers, newsletters, brochures, fliers, and posters.
