Langson Library: Current Periodicals, 2nd floor (lobby level), 824-4976
Current unbound issues of journals in the Arts, Humanities, Social Sciences, Education, and Business and Management,
domestic and foreign newspapers, and a large selection of popular magazines are located in Langson Library Current
Periodicals Room. The current issues of journals are shelved in call number order. The newspapers are shelved in two
sections, domestic and international, and within each section, alphabetically by title. Material in this area is for
library use only. A photocopy machine is available in the Current Periodicals Room; a Library
Copy Services copy card is required. Assistance is provided by staff at the Reference Desk on the 1st Floor or by

Langson Library: East Asian Current Periodicals, 2nd floor (lobby level), 824-4976
Current unbound issues of journals in Chinese, Japanese, and Korean languages are shelved in call number order immediately
following the non-East Asian journals in the rear of the Current Periodicals Room. A photocopy machine is available in the
Current Periodicals Room; a Library Copy Services copy card is required. Assistance is
provided by staff at the Reference Desk on the 1st Floor or by calling 824-4976. Click

Science Library: Current Periodicals, 2nd floor, 824-3705
Current unbound issues of scientific periodicals are located in the Science Library Current Periodicals area, between
Reference shelving and new books. Current unbound issues are arranged alphabetically by periodical title. The most current
issue is displayed, while earlier unbound issues can be found by lifting the display shelves. Journals, both bound and
unbound, do not circulate. The Orange County Register and the Los Angeles Times are the two daily newspapers available in
the Science Library; they are available on the display rack by the Reference Desk. Older issues are stored for one week,
and located on a shelf in the Microform Room. Photocopy machines are available outside the glass doors leading into the
Current Periodicals area; a Library Copy Services copy card is required.

Grunigen Medical Library: UC Irvine Medical Center, Building 22A, Orange, (714) 456-5585
All periodicals at the Grunigen Medical Library are shelved together in the Periodicals stacks, including latest issues,
bound and unbound periodicals. Medical Library periodicals are shelved in alphabetical order by title in the Periodicals
stacks. Bound periodicals circulate for one week. Current unbound periodicals do not circulate. Photocopy and scanning
machines are available for use with all periodicals; a Library Copy Services copy card is

A large collection of current domestic and international newspapers is available in the Current Periodicals
Room. The newspapers are shelved in two sections, domestic and international, and within each section, alphabetically
by title. Hard copies are kept until the microfilm versions become available. In some cases, the hard copies are
retained for up to one calendar year and as newer issues are received the older issues are recycled.

Newspapers and serials on microform are located in the Current Periodicals Room. Journals on microform are arranged by
accession number. Newspapers on microfilm are arranged alphabetically by title. Assistance is provided by staff at the
Reference Desk on the 1st Floor or by calling 824-4976. Microform reader-printers are available in Current Periodicals; a
Library Copy Services copy card is required.

Monographic microform sets and government information on microform are located on the 1st floor behind the Multimedia
Resources Center (MRC). Assistance is provided by staff at the Reference Desk on the 1st Floor. Microform reader-printers
are available on the first floor; a Library Copy Services copy card is required.

A small microform collection is available in the Science Library Current Periodicals area on the 2nd floor. Microfilm,
microfiche and microcards are arranged by accession number. Assistance is provided by staff at the Reference Desk. A
