A California Woman’s Story is the remarkable account of Joan Irvine Smith and the Irvine family, set against the backdrop of California’s history. Richly illustrated with 1,600 images, this 750 page book details the history of early Orange County and Mrs. Smith’s personal life, from her birth to her marriages, her interest in collecting art, and her ongoing efforts to preserve and protect California’s natural environment and cultural and historical monuments.
