UC Partnership with JSTOR to Create a Print Archive

JSTOR is an online database of fully-searchable, printable, and downloadable digitized back issues of journals in a wide range of disciplines. JSTOR is heavily used by UCI students and faculty, and studies show that they prefer to use these journals in electronic format.

In order to provide a secure backup for the database, JSTOR has reached agreements with Harvard and the University of California Libraries to create archives of print copies of the journals that are available online.  The UC-JSTOR print archive will reside at one of the UC Libraries' regional library facilities.

  • JSTOR Print Archive Phase I: Contains volumes from 353 journal titles with additional volumes added (“moving wall”) as they become available online.
  • JSTOR Print Archive Phase II: Contains an additional 100+ journal titles with additional volumes added (“moving wall”) as they become available online.
Current project:

April 2008 - UCI Libraries is planning to contribute the following titles.  Any concerns/ comments can be sent to Ltanji@uci.eduby April 30,2008.
