Multimedia Resources Center (MRC)

At the MRC, UCI faculty and students have access to powerful Macs and PCs preloaded with specialty software. The software can be used to make videos for class projects, to manipulate complex visual images and data, and much more. Stop by the MRC and check the latest software and plug-ins for Firefox and IE7, Yamaha MIDI keyboards, wireless TabletPCs, flatbed scanners, portable hard drives, and digital cameras.

The Macintosh- and Windows-friendly ILC staff can get you started on projects and homework and help you through any complications along the way. The ILC has Mac and Windows computers with specialty software and the latest plug-ins, plus wireless laptops, cameras and powerful multimedia computers where you can make videos, complex visual images and more.

Information Technology Center (ITC)

The Information Technology Center, Grunigen’s state-of-the-art educational technology facility, offers high-end multimedia development workstations, a networked electronic classroom, and general use computers for database searching, e-mail and word processing. Technical assistance is also available for users who wish to locate and use instructional software and multimedia, trusted medical websites, Personal Digital Assistants (PDA) resources, digital image collections, and wireless laptops.

Multimedia workstations

Multimedia workstations in the Langson Library Multimedia Resources Center (MRC), the Science Library Interactive Learning Center (ILC), and the Information Technology Center (ITC) enable UCI students, faculty, and staff to create and edit digital files, incorporate them into presentations or web pages, or transfer them to CDs or DVDs. Assistance will be provided to both novice and skilled users who wish to use professional quality authoring/editing software on either PC or Macintosh computers for teaching and learning.
