Document Delivery Service (DDS)

Document Delivery Service (DDS) delivers library materials to eligible UCI faculty, graduate students, and administrators on campus and at selected locations at the UCI Medical Center.

The Document Delivery Service schedule of deliveries and pick-ups will change on January 20, 2009 due to budget cuts. Deliveries will be made on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

DDS requests can be placed electronically through the methods below.

DDS Forms

Available in CDL-licensed databases, UC-eLinks enables users to move from a citation for an article or book to the item itself.

If the item is available online, UC-eLinks provides a link to the electronic version.

If it is available in print, UC-eLinks searches for a UC library that owns it (in the case of journal articles, it searches for the journal in which the article appears), then links to CDL Request, from which users can place an interlibrary loan or Document Delivery request.

CDL Request

California Digital Library (CDL) Request enables UC students, faculty, and staff to obtain items located in the CDL's Melvyl Catalog. Use CDL Request for the fastest service with the shortest turnaround time.

Items located at another UC campus will be sent to the UCI library of your choice and delivered via DDS. You must be registered for Document Delivery in order to place request for UCI-owned items.
