Getting a Library Card
Library users must have a valid library card to check out material.
An individual library card is for your personal use only and may not
be loaned or transferred. Library cards must be activated in person at
any of the UC Irvine Libraries Loan Desks.
Possession of a library card does not guarantee access to all library
material or services. For example, off-site access to licensed electronic resources
is available only to current UCI students, faculty and staff with a UCInetID;
and interlibrary loan privileges are available only to current UC students,
faculty and staff.

Proxy borrowers
UC Irvine and other UC faculty, academics, and administrative staff
may arrange to have a proxy check out material for them. The proxy must
be a paid employee of a UC campus or a currently registered UC student.
Proxies are not to be used for spouses, domestic partners, children or
friends. Doctoral candidates are not eligible to have proxies. A proxy
application form must be filled out and signed by the faculty or staff
member authorizing the proxy to check out material. The proxy card may
be issued at any of the Libraries Loan Desks. The person for whom items
are borrowed by proxy remains responsible for all overdues, recalls,
fines, and replacement bills that may be generated. For more information,
contact any UC Irvine Libraries Loan Desk.

your PhotoID or library card.

About your library PINs
You must come to the Loan Desk in any of the UC Irvine Libraries to
activate your library card and to obtain your library PIN. Your Library
PIN must be numeric and between 4 to 8 numbers long. With your library
card number and library PIN, you will be able to access your account
in My ANTPAC to renew
materials, place recalls/holds, modify your library PIN and access electronic
reserves.
If you want to modify
your library PIN, you can do so in My
ANTPAC. If you can not remember your
library PIN, contact the Loan
Desk at either the Langson, Science, or Grunigen Medical Library.
Your library PIN is different than your student ID and PIN or your UCInetID and
password, which is used to access the electronic databases and other
licensed materials available from the UCI Library.
Loan periods
Loan periods are different at the Langson, Science, & Grunigen Medical
Libraries. They also vary based on user category and type of material.
Please return or renew your checked out items promptly. For more detailed
