How to Use My ILL Requests

Users may check the status of Interlibrary Loan requests, request renewals, and cancel requests online.

Login

User ID: Enter your UCI Library card number, all digits without any spaces between them.

Password: Leave this field blank.

Authentication Service: Select “UCI” from the drop-down menu.

  • Click Submit

What if I can't connect to My ILL Requests account?

 

Status Messages

In Process: The request is in the process of being fulfilled.

Received: The requested item has been received by the UCI Interlibrary Loan staff.

Returned: The UCI Interlibrary Loan staff have recorded that you have returned the item. The record for the item will disappear when the item has been checked in at the lending institution.

Renewal Pending: The UCI Interlibrary Loan staff have requested a renewal from the lending institution.

Recalled: The lending institution has recalled the item.  


Submit a Renewal Request

To submit a renewal request for an item:

  • In the “Request Details” box:
    • Select the “Sort by” order
    • Click Submit
  • Click on the View or Title link
  • Click the Renew link
  • Enter your email address in the “renew a request” window
  • Click the Send email button and the OK button on the next screen

Please submit renewal requests no more than seven days before the due date.

When the UCI Interlibrary Loan staff have sent the renewal request to the lending institution, the status will change to Renewal Pending. Note that not all renewal requests are granted by the lending library. If the renewal is approved, the status will change to Received and will include the new due date. If it is denied, the status will change to Renewal denied, and you will receive an email requesting the item be returned.

 

Canceling a Request

To cancel an Interlibrary Loan request for an item:

  • In the “Request Details” box:
    • Select the “Sort by” order
    • Click Submit
  • Click on the View or Title link
  • Click the Cancel link
  • Enter your email address in the “cancel a request” window
  • Click the Send email button and the OK button on the next screen

Note that this option is not available for all items; it depends on the status of the request within the ILL process.
