About Electronic Reserves

Electronic Reserves (E-Reserves) provides access to digital versions of course materials, including journal or newspaper articles, book chapters, and lecture notes as well as links to licensed electronic resources. Using E-Reserves, you are able to view and print digital versions of materials submitted by an instructor for your course.

Who may use E-Reserves?

Current UCI students (including Extension), faculty, and staff members can access E-Reserves.

What is needed to access E-Reserves?

You must have a valid UCI Library card. You will also need a Library PIN (Personal Identification Number) to use E-Reserves. If you do not yet have a valid UCI Libraries card, you will need to activate your card in person at the Loan Desk at Langson, Science or Grunigen Medical Library. Valid identification and proof of current UCI enrollment or employment is required to activate your library card.

If you are using E-Reserves from off-campus, you will need to be authenticated as a current UCI student, faculty or staff member in order to access licensed electronic materials available through E-Reserves. Please refer to Connecting from Off-Campus.

What is a Library PIN?

Your Library PIN is a 4 to 8 digit number. You can set it when you activate your Library card. If you want to change it at a later time, you can modify your PIN via your account on My ANTPAC. Please note that your Library PIN is different from your TELE PIN and your UCInetID and password.

What can I do if I forget my Library PIN?

If you do not remember your Library PIN, you can have it changed by:

  • Going to the Loan/Reserves Desk at any UCI Library
  • Calling the Loan/Reserves Desk at the Langson Library (949-824-6842), the Science Library (949-824-3692) or Grunigen Medical Library (714) 456-5585
  • Sending an email to the either the Langson Library Loan/Reserves Desk at circadm@lib.uci.edu or the Science Library Loan/Reserves Desk at slloan@lib.uci.edu; include your name and Library card number (which begins with 2197000…) with a request that your Library PIN be changed; an email response will be sent to you within one day

What browser do I need to use to view E-Reserves?
