Mr. Sonnenfeldt

Mr. Sonnenfeldt was in government service from 1952 until his retirement from the State Department and Foreign Service in 1977. His principal positions included: research and intelligence specialist in the Department of State dealing with Soviet, East European, and communist affairs; head of the Office of Research and Analysis for the Soviet Union and Eastern Europe in the Department of State; policy officer for the United States Disarmament Agency; and senior staff member for the National Security Council dealing with United States-European and East-West relations. He has published articles on foreign policy matters in Foreign Affairs, Washington Quarterly, and the NATO Review, as well as in publications from Europe and Japan.
