Wordle Me This!

Wordle (wordle.net) is a free visualization tool that allows users to paste text into a window and then see it automatically yet artfully arranged into a cloud of words, with the size of each word corresponding to its frequency in the original passage. As the Wordle site puts it, it’s “a toy for generating ‘word clouds’ from text that you provide.” The Libraries played with creating wordles (graphic representations of text) from responses to a survey of undergraduate opinions of our services and resources. The results, shown in the image here, are entertaining, visually appealing, and, we think, highly indicative of the value that the Libraries hold for our undergraduate users.
