New Research Librarian for Business

The UCI Libraries welcomed Harold Gee as the new Research Librarian for Business in December 2003. Gee is highly qualified to provide a wide array of research services to the Graduate School of Management (GSM) due to his strong background as an academic and corporate business librarian and as a financial executive.

Gee comes to UCI from Baruch College of the City University of New York, where he had a strong record of actively providing specialized business research and consultation services. He has an impressive knowledge of both electronic and print resources in business and management. His previous experience includes working for LexisNexis as a trainer, consultant, and in sales support, and serving as librarian for several financial services corporations in New York City (Lazard Freres, Lehman Brothers, and Paine Webber). Prior to becoming a librarian, he was a successful financial analyst and account executive at American Airlines, Paine Webber,and Shearson Lehman Brothers. He was also Assistant Dean and Instructor at St. Vincent’s College of St. John’s University. His educational credentials include an M.B.A. in Finance from St. John’s, a Master of Library Science from Queens College, and a B.S. in Management and Finance from New York University.

The Libraries are extremely pleased to have recruited such an outstanding librarian. Gee will provide specialized instruction and consultation services to assist faculty and students with the business and financial resources available from the Libraries and GSM’s electronic resources in Catalyst.
