Strategic Planning Task Force Appointed

Exterior of Langson LibraryA Task Force on Strategic Planning for the Libraries has been established, chaired by Michael Clark, Vice Provost for Academic Planning. This task force has broad representation from schools and administration across the campus. It will focus on strategic directions for our Libraries for the next three to five years.

The task force will consider the current and future role of the library system on the UCI campus, including its support to our research and educational missions, student services, budget, and space. The group will examine the current operations of the Libraries and assess the foci and scope of collections and services it offers especially as they reflect the role of the Libraries and Study Centers on the campus as a whole.

The task force report is due at the end of Spring Quarter 2010. The committee may remain in place through next year to follow up on issues that arise as further input is gathered.

The group's membership can be found at www.evc.uci.edu/budget/BudgetTaskForces.html. All members of the campus community are encouraged to forward perspectives and ideas to Rob Ameele, at rob.ameele@uci.edu, or to myfeedback@uci.edu.
