Recent Appointments

Jeffra Bussmann

Jeffra Bussmann has been appointed Research Librarian for Math, Physics and Astronomy and joined the UCI Libraries in February 2009. Jeffra has previously worked with Math faculty at San Jose State University as a Department Consultant and Administrative Support Coordinator in the Department of Mathematics. While completing her library degree, Jeffra also worked in Special Collections and with the Reference/Instruction librarians at San Jose State University’s Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Library.

Jeffra’s degrees include an M.L.I.S from San Jose State University and a B.S. in Mathematics from California Polytechnic State University.

Danielle Kane

Danielle Kane has joined the UCI libraries in the newly created position of Research Librarian for Emerging Technologies and Service Innovation. Danielle brings to UCI extensive experience with Second Life, as well as a variety of other web 2.0 technologies that can be implemented to improve how researchers and students access and manipulate information. Danielle has published an article on creating a library video game collection and given presentations on the academic and library use of Second Life.

Danielle comes to UCI from UC Santa Cruz, where she was the Chemistry and Electrical Engineering Librarian and the Undergraduate Instruction Coordinator for the UCSC Science & Engineering Library.
