Recent Appointments

Tony Lin

The new Research Librarian for Business is Tony Lin. Tony comes to UCI from the Hawaii Business Research Library, where he was the Research and Cataloging Librarian. As a graduate student at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Tony worked in the University of Michigan Libraries, including the Kresge Business Administration Library. Tony has worked with researchers using specialized business databases and brings to UCI both knowledge of these resources and experience using new technologies when assisting researchers.

Tony’s degrees include an M.S. in Information Science from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor, a B.A. in Spanish from CSU San Marcos, and a B.S. in Business Administration, Finance from San Diego State University. He is an active member in both ALA’s Business Reference & Services Section and SLA’s Business and Finance Division.

Rachel Shulman

Rachel Shulman recently joined the Department of Education and Outreach as the Community Services Outreach Librarian. In this position, Rachel will lead the Libraries’ SPIRIT (School Partnerships in Research and Information Techology) program, a unique effort that strives to teach research and information literacy skills to middle and high school students and teachers. Rachel will actively pursue opportunities to partner with campus units and faculty who provide community outreach to students who are underrepresented at the University of California. She will also lead efforts to develop programs that will help community college students make a seamless transition from the community college research environment to the research environment of a major research university.

Rachel Shulman is a recent graduate of the Graduate School of Library and Information Science at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. She also has a M.A. in History from the University of Illinois, and a B.A. in History from Bryn Mawr College.

Signing into My ANTPAC Is Easier Than Ever

The Libraries' implementation of Single Sign-On (SSO), using UCI’s web authentication program, allows faculty, students, and staff to log in to My ANTPAC and Electronic Reserves (E-Reserves) using their UCInetID and password. Once logged in, users move seamlessly between participating campus resources without having to reenter their UCInetID and password.
