“My ILL Requests,” the new user interface for the UCI Libraries’ interlibrary loan system, offers a variety of new features to enable you to manage your interlibrary loan requests.
The ability to see the status of each of your ILL requests is a key feature of the new interface; other features enable you to request renewals or cancel ILL requests. Status indicators include: 1) due date; 2) request is in the process of being fulfilled; 3) item has been received at the library; 4) item has been returned to the lending library; 5) item has been recalled by the lending library before the loan period has ended; and 6) renewal request is pending while approval is obtained from the lending library.
Login requires your UCI library card number and selection of UCI as your home campus; no PIN is necessary. To ensure the privacy and security of your transaction information, you must either log in from a University of California IP address or, if you are off campus, via the campus VPN service.
The CDL Melvyl Request and UC e-Links system blocks some ILL requests because the system believes that the UCI Libraries own the item, having found an apparent match in ANTPAC (this is particularly true for multi-volume titles for which our holdings are incomplete). When a request is blocked, a message states that the item is owned by UCI, and you can retrieve it locally. You can easily override the block by clicking the “Process” button, and your request will be processed as usual. If you use the Libraries’ Document Delivery Service, simply click on the “Continue” button, and the item will be delivered to your department.
