New UC Wide Transformative Publishing Agreements

 

  • American Chemical Society Transformative Agreement
    Update as of June 3, 2025: ACS' open access publishing options for UC authors will change effective July 1, 2025. Authors who wish to publish open access with ACS will be responsible for fully covering the discounted $3,000 Article Processing Charge (APC). Reading access to ACS publications for UC affiliates will continue without interruption.
  • IEEE Transformative Open Access Agreement

    Update as of October 4, 2023: UC will end the open access publishing portion of its agreement with IEEE effective January 1, 2024, due to low author participation. Funding for page charges will also end at that time. Reading access to IEEE publications will continue without interruption; only UC's funding support for publishing with IEEE is ending.

*There can sometimes be a time lag between the announcement that a UC-side transformative publishing agreement has been reached and the completion of contracts and implementation of technology to make funding available. Authors are encouraged to review the details of these agreements in order to plan appropriately.
