Fall Quarter 2020 - For Faculty/Instructors
Fall Quarter is soon approaching and we wanted to take this opportunity to let you know how the UCI Libraries can assist with your course materials.
We ask that you submit your requests as soon as possible and we will do our best to make sure materials will be ready for your students at the start of the quarter.
Books we currently own in print
The UCI Libraries will not be offering print reserves in Fall Quarter. However if there is a print book we own that you would like to use in your course, we will do our best to purchase an electronic copy. It is important to note that not all books are available for electronic use or available to libraries to buy. Please fill out the Course Reserves Request Form:
You can also request a scan of a book/chapter or article to post in your Canvas site. You can place your requests through Library Search by clicking Request Article/Chapter Scan once you’ve found the item you would like. (Note: You must be signed into your account in Library Search to see this option.) The Libraries will follow the UC Fair Use for Teaching and Researching Guidelines when evaluating your request.
Books we currently own in electronic format
Please contact your subject librarian if you would like to use one of our ebooks in your course. They can verify the usage model and discuss with you whether it would work for your class size and needs.
Please contact your subject librarian if you would like us to investigate all available options for electronic purchase.
Find Items on Reserve
Reserve Services houses course-related materials selected by faculty as required or recommended reading for their courses. Materials placed on Course Reserves can be checked out from our Check Out Desks.
