Study Rooms

  • Rooms may be booked by current UCI students, staff, and faculty.
  • Book up to 7 days in advance.
  • Daily limit: 2 hours across all study rooms.
  • The UCI Libraries are not responsible for unattended belongings.
  • Furniture may not be moved in or out of study rooms. Remove all personal items, including trash, at the end of your reservation.
  • If you will not be using the room, cancel your reservation through the link in your email confirmation. This is both a courtesy to other students and will ensure that these hours do not count toward your daily limit.
  • When it is time for your reservation proceed directly to the study room.
  • Always have your email confirmation readily available.
  • The UCI Libraries reserve the right to cancel reservations due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g. emergency maintenance is required).
  • Dry erase markers are available for check out at the Check Out Desks.

Need some additional peace and quiet? Ask at the Check Out Desks (or service desk at Gateway) for free earplugs. While supplies last.

 

The Langson Library offers quiet study space in a wide range of options including 852 individual study spaces.
  • Open extended hours during Finals weeks.
  • The 4th floor, Basement and Special Collections are designated Quiet Study Zones. Please turn your cell phones off and take all conversations outside.
  • The 3rd floor offers study rooms of varying sizes. Rooms must be reserved through the Study Space Locator. The UCI Libraries are not responsible for unattended belongings.
  • The Nordstrom Honors Study Room is available on the 4th floor for Honors students.  Please speak to a Check Out Desk staff member for additional information on using this facility.
Roger C. Holden Faculty and Graduate Student Reading Room
  • The Roger C. Holden faculty and graduate student reading room is located on the second floor, LL 203.
  • The Reading Room offers an attractive and comfortable space for UCI faculty and graduate students to conduct research in the library.
  • Please speak to a Check Out Desk staff member for additional information on using this facility.
The Science Library offers quiet study space in a wide range of options including 2000 individual study spaces.
  • Open extended hours during Finals weeks.
  • The Science Library offers over thirty study rooms of varying sizes. Rooms must be reserved through the Study Space Locator. The UCI Libraries are not responsible for unattended belongings.
  • The 4th and 6th floors are designated Quiet Study Zones. Please turn your cell phones off and take all conversations outside.
  • The Honors Study Room is available on the 5th floor for Honors students.  Please speak to a Check Out Desk staff member for additional information on using this facility.

The Multimedia Resources Center on the 1st floor of the Science Library and offers a number of study rooms and open study areas.

Faculty and Graduate Student Reading Room

  • The Faculty and Graduate Reading Room is located on the Sixth Floor.
  • UCI faculty and graduate students may use the reading room by checking out a cardkey from the Check Out Desk.

The Grunigen Medical Library offers quiet study spaces in a range of options, as well as two meeting rooms and a classroom available through our online reservation system.

No reservation is necessary for the following spaces:

  • Study desks with power outlets and USB ports.
  • Heya desks with soft seating, high sides, small swivel table, outlets and USB ports give a lounge feel.
  • Open tables, chairs and couches are available for individual or quiet group study.

The Libraries Gateway Study Center is located across from the Langson Library.
  • Open 24 hours 10th and Finals weeks.
  • Libraries Gateway Study Center offers 13 study rooms of varying sizes,. Rooms must be reserved through the Study Space Locator. The UCI Libraries are not responsible for unattended belongings.
